Policies, procedures and rules

Athlete, coach, official, and volunteer personal safety is important to Goalball Australia and its members.

Member protection

Goalball Australia works under Blind Sports Australia's member protection policy, and has a complaint management policy.

Copy of Version 8 (2014) policy below.

Working with children

With respect to working with children checks (WWCC; or 'blue card' or 'working with vulnerable people'), individuals should be governed by their resident state's legislation and their association's policies.  Each state has different terms, different requirements, for residents of their states, as well as visitors from other states. If unsure of what legislation applies to each state, please see the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission WWCC webpage

Please see the relevant BSA and GA policies, and state organisation policies.

IBSA goalball rules

The current rules and supporting materials can be located on the IBSA webpage

Copy of rules, as last amended in May 2020.

Concussion policy

Adopted in November 2016, the policy follows the AIS Concussion in Sport webpage advice.

Goalball Australia is registered as an incorporated association in Western Australia.

A handbook is prepared as a guide to state associations and the national executive.  Different areas are currently being reviewed.
